Installing Perl on your PC
These directions will help you install Perl on your PC running Vista Business.
Install Active State Perl
- Go to the http://www.activestate.com/activeperl/ website.
- Click on
- Click on Run
- You may get this message:
- It will take a few minutes to install the temporary files
- When is has finished downloading, you will see the welcome screen.
- Click on Next
- Accept the terms and click on Next
- Make sure the ActivePerl level is highlighted and click on Next
- Make sure the top two options are checked and click on Next
- Click on Install
- Click on Finish
- Go to you command prompt.
- XP then go to Start> Command Prompt
- Vista – go to in the bottom left corner and Click on All Programs and click on Accessories and click on Command Prompt
- Type perl –v and you will see:
- This tells me that I have installed Perl version 5.10.1 on my PC
Click on Run
