Photoshop Hue, Saturation and Lightness

  1. Open an image in Photoshop and make a backup layer
  2. Go to the main menu bar and select Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation...

  3. Photoshop adds a new adjustment layer
  4. Change the Hue, Saturation and LIghtness by adjusting the gauge in the Adjustment panel.
    1. Hue - the pure color
    2. Saturation - as saturation of a color is reduced the color becomes grayer. One component in the HSL color model.
    3. Lightness - a measure of how light or dark a color is. One component in the HSL color model.
